Garvey Named Men's Student Athlete of the Month

The January Male Student-Athlete of the Month is Devinir Garvey, a junior transfer from Passaic County Community College in Paterson, NJ, who has been a dominant force for Clinton College. Averaging 12.9 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game, Devinir has been on an impressive streak, scoring in double digits in six consecutive games throughout January.

His excellence extends beyond the basketball court, as he also achieved a 3.4 GPA during the fall semester, showcasing his dedication as both a student and an athlete.

In his free time, Devinir enjoys doing word searches, finding relaxation in the simple challenge they provide. His favorite movie star is Tom Cruise, and he gets hyped before games by listening to Jace Underground.

Inspired by the strength of his mother and grandmother, Devinir strives to be resilient both in life and in sports. His favorite food is pizza, and if given the chance, he'd love to have dinner with NBA superstar Russell Westbrook.

Devinir chose Clinton College because it offered the perfect environment for him to succeed both academically and athletically. His favorite memories at Clinton are the home basketball games, where the lively atmosphere fuels his passion for the game.

One of his most remarkable athletic achievements so far was recording an incredible 25 rebounds in a single game—a testament to his hard work and determination. After graduating, Devinir's goal is to play professional basketball, continuing his journey in the sport he loves.
