COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Clinton College volleyball team again swept Columbia College in three sets but this time on the road in Columbia on Tuesday evening from the Godbold Center.
Clinton pulled away late to win the first set 25-20 before a back and forth second set saw CC climb to within one point multiple times before going down 25-23. Clinton then ran out to a 12-2 start in the third set before Columbia rallied to get within six points at 15-21 but saw the Bears go on for the 25-16 win.
The Koalas totaled more kills than the Bears, 39-31 but the Bears made less errors.
Junior setter Sierra Faulkner led the Bears with 23 assists on the night along with 5 kills, 5 digs, and a block while freshman outside hitter Madison Weber had 10 kills, seven digs an ace and an assist.
Sophomore middle blocker Monica Burns also played well notching 4 kills and hitting. 571with five blocks and an ace.
The Bears will next return to action on Friday when they return home to host Div. II foe Benedict College (SC) at 6:00 pm.
